Center of Danish Agricultural Counselling
The National Center of Danish Agricultural Counselling con- sists of more than 60 independent centres of agricultural counselling. The local centres are owned by local organiza- tions originated in the two former central organizations, The Agricultural Societies and Danish Family Agricultural Society. Behind the National Centre is the Danish farmer's central organization, Dansk Landbrug.
Special counselling for consultants
The role of the Center is to ensure that the local consultants have the latest informations at their disposal in the coope- ration with the farmers. The majority of the 500 employees are specialists in relation to counselling within subject areas.
In addition to the consultancy assignments multiple services is provided for the farmers. The cattle database can be em- phasized among these services as well as the administration of earmarking and studbook of horses.
Working with the latest science results, the National Center operates like a bridge builder between science and the far- mers. The Center often participates in projects along with research and development institutions and can therefore communicate the latest discoveries quickly.
Financial management and improved follow-up
The Center has many projects as a result of different subsidy schemes. Consequently the Center had been looking for an effective solution for managing projects. This Project Ma- nagement solution was chosen and the solution was imple- mented and running within few months.
One of the key areas was the request for improving the financial follow-up by combining their Navision solution with an integrated solution for project management and time re- gistration. Some adjustments of the solution were necessa- ry due to the different requirements for managing projects in such a large and multi-faceted organisation.
Competent and flexible
"NaviCom has from the beginning studied our way of working and fulfilled our expectations of a dynamic and flexible spar- ring partner. In spite of the tight schedule, the assignment was accomplished to our full satisfaction and it is our impres- sion that the assignment was highly prioritized by NaviCom" says Peter Bay, CEO.
Based on the close coope- ration with the Center, NaviCom has adjusted the solution in order to make sure that it is possible to control all projects and allowing all employees to register their time in Navision.
A project team was established from the start. The group consisted of employees from both the Center and NaviCom. The progress of the case has been classic with workshop, analysis, development and implementation.
"NaviCom has taking everything into account during the workshop periods. The sessions have been completed in a professional way and the feed-back from the participants in these workshops is positive. We have a very good coope- ration based on mutual dialogue and the different recommen- dations and actions are followed up" according to Peter Bay.
Project Management makes it possible to use the majority of the time on the projects. Using this solution the project mana- gers obtains a much better financial control of the projects and the overall view is better. Consequently Project Manage- ment is a tool when it comes to avoid budget overruns.
"Project Management facilitates our management processes. The diversity of the functionalities improves the view of all projects. Due to this solution we are able to promptly optimize inappropriate procedures."
"We have now got a complete project management solution, that provides the management of the Center with both tools and informations that makes it easier to reach the best decisions" says Peter Bay.
